In a move that may excite or cause heartbreak among Marvel fans….
S.H.I.E.L.D is to première on Channel 4 amid a fevered bidding war that fought off many rivals including Sky. It will make it’s first debut in the US on the ABC network on September 24th, then the UK soon after. The only self redeeming feature I notice so far is that Joss Whedon is taking the full reins of the show. Whedon directs, co-writes and produces the live action show which in conjunction with Marvel and ABC is also produced by Whedons Production company, Mutant Enemy .
The target market is family entertainment and will promise to captivate fans of the Avengers Assemble…with the show revealing the reappearance of Agent Coulson who died in the Avengers film.
Just look at what channel 4 chief creative officer had to say:
“Like the superhero universe from which it has come, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is big, bold and absolutely exhilarating,” Channel 4 chief creative officer, Jay Hunt said.
“Featuring the production values you’d expect from Marvel and ABC Studios, this is family entertainment at its most exciting.”
And just for my followers here is a sneak preview trailer of the up-coming show….a nice trailer that will prove to be a show all generations can watch..
